You can acquire them on all of the platforms for which the game has been released, with the sole exception of Nintendo Switch, which does not offer any system of achievements. Trophies are common for the basic version of Dark Souls, as well as the Dark Souls Remastered one, the latter offering, among others, numerous improvements to the graphics. There are a total of 41 trophies to acquire - 18 Bronze, 20 Silver, 2 Gold and one Platinum (only on PS3 and PS4 versions of the game). Welcome to one of the hardest games of this generation, Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to the amazing Demon's Souls. This guide is fully compatible with Dark Souls Remastered, and the minor changes from that game will be noted in the guide. If you have played Demon's Souls before, you will be happy to know that the game is based on the same mechanics.
You need to confront the Great Grey Wolf Sif boss in the Darkroot Garden location - information on how to get to the location can be found in our walkthrough and the description of the boss encounter is located in the chapter on bosses, in our guide to Dark Souls. As a reward for killing the boss, you will receive a Covenant of Antorias ring, allowing you to enter the Abyss. Crystal WeaponType of trophy: BronzeHow to unlock: Acquire best weapon through crystal reinforcement.Commentary: This trophy requires the acquisition of Large Ember (look for it in the Depths) and Crystal Ember (visit the Duke's area while on the way to the Crystal Cave) - more on that topic can be found in Enhancement chapter of this guide. Afterwards, you need to visit a blacksmith in The Catacombs and develop any weapon or shield to the rank of Crystal +5.Another method to acquire the trophy is to find the Crystal Halberd in a chest in Anor Londo and develop it to +5.
By doing so you will not have to acquire both of the rare ingredients - Large Ember and Crystal Ember. Dark LordType of trophy: GoldHow to unlock: Reach 'The Dark Lord' ending.Commentary: 'The Dark Lord' is one of the two main endings of the game. You need to start by defeating the final boss of the game - Gwyn Lord of Cinder. Once you have done it, leave the location without lighting the bonfire.A valuable note - in theory, this achievement is mutually exclusive to 'To link the Fire' which is about unlocking another ending. You can, however, easily get around this restriction by making a copy of the current state of the game, before the fight with the final boss begins.
Once you acquire the described trophy, you can exit the game, restore the older save game, launch the game again and behave differently after re-defeating the final boss. This method is not available on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles, as both of them lack the possibility of transferring saves to a USB stick or to another directory on the hard drive (PC). Fire WeaponType of trophy: BronzeHow to unlock: Acquire the best weapon through fire reinforcement.Commentary: This trophy requires the acquisition of Large Flame Ember (go to Demon's Ruins and locate a chest protected by monsters) - more on that topic can be found in Enhancement chapter of this guide. In order to unlock it, you need to acquire 32 unique weapons and craft 15 more with the souls of defeated enemies.Unique weapons are acquired in two ways - by exploring the areas or in the form of trophies for defeated monsters (remember to cut off their tails, if possible). The following tables contain information about the places and/or circumstances of their acquisition. Special weapons crafted from the souls of bosses are more troublesome, as each boss leaves only a single soul behind.
This means that you will need to defeat some of the bosses 2 or even 3 times during re-runs of the game. We have included the full list of weapons below.
